Four Values in Filipino Drama and Film
by:Nicanor G. Tiongson

Four Values in Filipino Drama and Film by Nicanor G. Tiongson may be a good article on behalf of me. I accept as true with Drama and Film is one among the foremost popular means of mass communication within the contemporary Philippines because there's little question that a lot of people are always watching dramas and shows on television. Nora Aunor has truly become a national figure and Tagalog has risen to the status of real national language because Nora Aunor is a superb and famous in Philippines dramas and films. The foremost important means of communication is that the movies. The values shown within the film and dramas are inevitably molded the Filipino’s consciousness.
Reading Nicanor G. Tiangson’s article, a reader could be convinced that, the values encountered in most Filipino movies today ate an equivalent negative values that they need inherited from the normal dramas. Four of those values are: first, Magandaangmaputi (White is Beautiful). Second, Masaya ang may Palabas (Shows are the Best). Third, MabutiangInaapi (Hurrah for the Underdog) and fourth, Maganda pa angDaigdig (All is true with the World).
I accept as true with Nicanor G. Tiongson that in Spanish times, the Komedia dramas from awits and Korido’s revolving round the love of princes and princesses. And before, the quality of being beautiful is white, the to think about beautiful you want to have: matangosnailong, malaking Mata, maliitnabibig and most of all maputingbalat. The colonial aesthetics of up to date Philippine movies are both derivation, an outgrowth and a magnification of colonial aesthetics in our Spanish past and American present. Today, all-star within the firmament of Filipino cinema with the only and singular exception of Nora Aunor is either mestizos, mestizas or mestisuhin, TipongArtista Native-looking actors and actresses often find yourself as comedians or contrabidas. I accept as true with that because before if you don’t have a typical of beauty which is being white. Your role are going to be just a kontrabida or protagonist in films and films. The worth of white is gorgeous is one among the foremost ridiculous and destructive expressions of our colonial mentality. due to it, Some Filipina spend money for surgery and trip abroad to possess their eyes made wider, their noses sculptured to aquiline or a minimum of , decently Caucasian proportions. On behalf of me white is gorgeous isn't a typical of being beautiful because being beautiful is about attitude and good and kindhearted.
There is tons of shows in television or Movie theaters before, most of the ingredients or contents of films are bakbakan or fighting, iyakan, sayawan or dances, kantahan or singing, tawanan or laughter. Reading Tiangson’s article isn't confusing because he gave enough information and meaning of word in his article. He put definitions of the words and provides supporting details of comedy, sinakulo, zarzuela, kundimans, and dramas. I accept as true with the author also that dramas are entertaining you by squeezing ones tear glands dry and making a river of one's nose because dramas cause you to cry. But today, dramas aren't all about crying only, most today's drama has different genre a number of these are having actions, comedy, and drama in fact.
I afflict MabutiangInaapi or Hurrah for the Underdog because not all Bullied is sweet, sometimes they're just acting and pretending that they're good even they're not.
The last value which stipulates that each one is true with the planet or Maganda pa angDaigdig isn't a worth itself, but a Weltanschauung that arises as a consequence of the second and third disvalue. Like all other disvalues, the terminal Weltanschauung was molded by our colonial experience. Due to Spanish time, our colonial drama always ended with the affirmation that the evil punished and every one good are rewarded. That disvalue has still existed in today's dramas and films because the antagonist of the dramas is bullied and discriminated by the protagonist, but at the top of the films, the antagonist are going to be successful in doing his/her missions or reaching his/her goals.
Overall, Four Values in Filipino Drama and Film by Nicanor G. Tiangson may be a good and excellent article, it's worth reading. The article explained well its points which are the four disvalues in Filipino films.
